What is Glue Kit?

Glue Kit is a small analytics script that runs on websites built and maintained by Atomic Glue. If a page you visited made a request to gluekit.dev, that was us, counting an anonymous pageview so the site's owner knows what's working.

If you came from your browser dev tools
*.gluekit.dev

That's our analytics endpoint. It receives lightweight pageview and event pings from sites Atomic Glue operates. No cookies, no cross-site tracking, no third-party trackers piggybacking along.

Why am I seeing this domain?

There are a few ways a Glue Kit request ends up in your traffic. None of them are exciting.

01 Most likely

You visited a website we built.

Atomic Glue builds websites and applications for companies and agencies. Some sites we operate include Glue Kit so the owner can see how visitors find them: what pages work, where traffic comes from, when something breaks.

02 Sometimes

You used an app powered by us.

A handful of agency partners run their internal tools and client dashboards on infrastructure we maintain. Those tools page home to Glue Kit for uptime and usage metrics. Never anything tied to your identity.

03 Occasionally

Your firewall got curious.

If a corporate DNS log or pi-hole surfaced gluekit.dev with no obvious source, it was almost certainly the analytics call from a normal browsing session. Safe to allow.

Everything Glue Kit actually sends home.

We built Glue Kit because off-the-shelf analytics ship with five trackers and a cookie banner. We didn't want that. Neither do our clients.

What we collect

The bare minimum to be useful.

  • The page URL you landed on, including any campaign tags already in it, so the site owner knows which content people read and what brought you there.
  • The referring site, if any, to tell organic search from a link in someone's newsletter.
  • Rough location, your browser's user-agent, and a device class, worked out from the request. We keep "Portland, United States, mobile" — not your IP address, which is never written down.
  • Custom events set up by the site owner, like form submits or button clicks. Never keystrokes, never scroll, never the contents of a form.
  • A way to tell repeat visits apart, hashed from your request headers together with this site's own ID. Because that ID is mixed in, the same browser hashes to a different value on every site we run, so it can't be used to join you up across them. It doesn't reverse into a name.
  • Where people click, on the pages an owner switches it on for. Positions on a grid — never the element, never the text, never a form field. Off unless someone turns it on.
What we don't

Everything the rest of the industry sells.

  • No cookies. No localStorage, and nothing that outlives the tab you're in. There's one random ID in sessionStorage so a refresh isn't counted as a fresh visit, and a short-lived cache of the site's own settings. Close the tab and both are gone.
  • No client-side fingerprinting. We don't sniff fonts, canvas, audio context, or any of the usual suspects.
  • No cross-site tracking. Glue Kit data lives in one client's account. We don't sell, share, or pool it across sites.
  • No third parties. The script runs on private servers. It doesn't call out to ad networks, data brokers, or session replay tools.

See what search engines see.

Click it on any page and Glue Kit shows you what search engines and social platforms get when they look at it: the share preview as it will actually render, your title and meta description measured against where search results cut them off, and whatever is quietly wrong — a stray noindex, a missing canonical, an og:image that 404s.

It reads the page you're looking at, tells you what's broken worst-first in plain English, and forgets it when you close the popup. It works without an account and doesn't run at all until you click it.
